摘要: Immune response induced against Leishmania parasites is influenced by several factors, one of the most important being type Antigen Presenting Cell (APC). Langerhans cells, a subpopulation APC, are sentinel cells for detecting invader microorganisms; they reside in skin tissues at levels where phlebotomine fly vector inoculates parasites. Presence microorganisms can induce activation leading to their maturation and migration towards lymph nodes. There, present antigens T subsequent specific differentiation into effector cells. Early after infection, few have been observed sites suggesting that infected macrophages little opportunity locate elimination However, may be available provide signals stimulation parasite-specific T-cell responses node inducing skin. Herein, main characteristics reviewed, with special emphasis on participation cutaneous inflammatory response. The role these infections caused protozoan genus discussed.
