摘要: Research indicates that people from low socioeconomic and ethnic minority backgrounds disproportionately fail to meet the weekly national recommendations for physical activity. Perceptions of environmental factors may be significant barriers walking in communities experiencing high rates crime poverty impact women men differently. The present study investigated sex differences perceptions environment overall neighborhood quality on an underserved population. Participants were 195 African American 95 men. Baseline data indicated reported greater concerns about safety, poorer aesthetics, lower satisfaction than Regression analyses showed access places significantly predicted both moderated effect satisfaction. These results suggest interventions focused building accessibility while also addressing social are needed communities.
