摘要: OBJECTIVE Few interventions have targeted preventive health behaviors of midlife and older African American (AA) men. This study derived pertinent information with personal interviews to develop a tailored physical activity (PA) intervention for AA men -45 years age. METHODS Participants were 49 aged 45-88 years. Personal ascertained PA barriers, enablers, preferences, components that would render program appropriate appealing similar ages. Taped transcribed organized in NVivo analysis. Common themes identified by multiple research staff. RESULTS Most often cited barriers included time constraints, lack social support, low motivation, poor access, factors related chronic conditions aging. Although preferred traditional forms sports exercise when younger, they learned adapt the intensity duration as aged, walking was viewed an acceptable alternative.
