摘要: Fourier analysis of the monthly mean northern hemispheric geopotential heights for levels 700 mb and 300 are undertaken months April through to August. The wave zonal flow kinetic energy interactions computed specified latitude bands hemisphere during pre-monsoon period (April May) monsoon (June August) bad years (1972, 1974, 1979) good rainfall over India (1967, 1973, 1977). Planetary scale waves (waves 1 4) major source in upper atmosphere months. Waves 2 particular a greater other via both as well than years. shows significantly larger gains with strengthening westerlies
