摘要: Background: Kidney stone (nephrolithiasis) is one of the most common diseases. During past several decades, its prevalence and incidence have increased markedly in elderly population. Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate risk factors for nephrolithiasis Patients Methods: based on Amirkola Health Ageing Project (AHAP). Elderly people with kidney stones every size, type number were considered be case group other subjects without a history served as control group. Demographic anthropometric data, smoking, diabetes metabolic syndrome (MetS), calcium (Ca), vitamin D, parathyroid hormone (PTH), uric acid urine pH compared both groups. Results: In this study, 1390 mean age 69.37 ± 7.42 years evaluated which 202 (14.53%) cases had renal stones. The patients younger (P = 0.010) higher body mass index (BMI) levels 0.041 P 0.006, respectively). Age <75 years, male gender BMI ≥30 kg/m2 significant association formation. diabetes, MetS smoking lower than it. Conclusions: suggests that gender, obesity might independent development nephrolithiasis. Hence, low animal protein intake weight reduction should included part counseling senior stone-formers.
