摘要: The direct analysis of solid samples using electrothermal (graphite furnace) atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) has been investigated for the determination thallium in river and marine sediment reference materials, because complete digestion requires use hydrofluoric acid and/or an alkaline fusion, extraction with aqua regia might be incomplete cause interferences thallium. sediments sampling ETAAS was straight forward, could carried out good accuracy even without a chemical modifier or calibration against aqueous standards. sediments, contrast, proved to extremely difficult due severe spectral non-spectral interferences. latter ones were caused by relatively high chloride content compared eventually be controlled addition ammonium nitrate as together ruthenium permanent modifier. interference only overcome Zeeman-effect background correction, most likely sulfate. After optimization procedure, materials determined certified material. According experience gained it assumed that standards equally used calibration; this approach, however, not further investigated. results agreement non-certified ‘information’ values obtained ICP-MS vaporization isotope dilution calibration. A characteristic mass 13 pg obtained, limit detection proposed method, based on zero-mass response (three times standard deviation of 10 atomization cycles empty platforms), around 0.02 µg g−1 Tl.
