摘要: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected persons, are at high risk for developing a bloodstream infection. In order to evaluate the usefulness of C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PTC) in detection bloodstream infection HIV, a case-control study was conducted from February December 2012. PCT and CPR levels were measured 2 groups. concentrations by VIDAS® Brahms assay, CRP concentrations determined CRP latex. Values calculated both biomarkers discriminative ability analyzed using ROC curves. There no significant differences between group the control groups with respect levels. However, they much higher PCT levels patients bacteremia. showed greater discriminating ability compared CRP, proved be valuable tool systemic bacterial infections HIV patients.
