Approximate calculation of fatigue crack growth

摘要: For small scale yielding and plane strain conditions a method for calculating the propagation rate of fatigue cracks in work-hardening materials is described. It assumed that characteristic plastic displacement near crack tip equal to during each load cycle. The calculation carried out opening mode III, result then transformed I. comparison calculated rates with measured values yields encouraging agreement. In most cases are higher than ones. reasons this behaviour discussed.
