摘要: An immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody capture assay (GACRIA) methodologically distinct from other assays for the detection of antibodies to human T-lymphotropic virus type III/lymphadenopathy-associated (anti-HTLV III/LAV) was developed and used test 1,055 serum samples previously screened by a competitive (COMPRIA). Eight hundred twenty-three (78%) sera were positive 129 (12.2%) negative in both assays. The coefficient correlation between two 0.87, COMPRIA appeared more sensitive than GACRIA. On retesting 103 that gave initially conflicting results, 81 discrepancies resolved, 77 because change result. 22 persistently discrepant an equivocal or result Thirteen these commercial ELISA (ELAVIA). Twenty them also tested Western blot; all reactive with at least HTLV III/LAV protein bands. four types: 1) laboratory control (n = 2); 2) naturally occurring weakly 5); 3) anti-HTLV IU/ LAV IgG but IgM 5; five individuals whom drawn symptomatic); 4) one probably accidentally contaminated III/LAV-positive 10). It concluded GACRZA is specific adequately and, conjunction assays, useful confirmatory whose format could readily be changed ELISA.
