摘要: Culturally competent health interventions require an understanding of the population’s beliefs and pressures they experience. Research to date on health-related experiences clergy lacks a comprehensive data-driven model health. Eleven focus groups with 59 United Methodist Church (UMC) pastors 29 UMC District Superintendents were conducted in 2008. Participants discussed their conceptualization barriers to, facilitators of, promotion. Audiotape transcriptions coded by two people each analyzed using grounded theory methodology. A for is proposed that categorizes 42 moderators into five levels drawn from Socioecological Framework: Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, Congregational, Institutional, Civic Community. Clergy mediated stress self-care coping practices. Implications future research are discussed.
