摘要: Epigenetic modifications are highlighted for their great importance in regulating plant development, but function associated with single-cell differentiation remains undetermined. Here, we used the cotton fibre, which is epidermal hair on ovule, as a model to investigate regulatory role of DNA methylation cell differentiation. The level CHH (H = A, T, or C) was found increase during fibre accompanied by decrease RNA-directed (RdDM). Examination nucleosome positioning revealed gradual transition from euchromatin heterochromatin chromatin dynamics developing fibres, could shape landscape. observed compared other ovule tissue, demonstrated be mediated predominantly an active H3K9me2-dependent pathway rather than RdDM pathway, inactive. Furthermore, integrated multi-omics analyses that dynamic played regulation lipid biosynthesis and spatio-temporal modulation reactive oxygen species Our study illustrates two divergent pathways mediating continuous also sheds further light epigenetic basis plants. These data made available wider research community through comprehensive web portal.
