摘要: Hyphema is a complication that can occur after glaucoma filtering surgery. Biomicroscopic examination of the anterior segment commonly used to diagnose it and gonioscopy may provide useful support find source haemorrhage. Unfortunately, when blood hides structure gonioscopic fails. In this case we performed ultrabiomiscroscopy with 50–80 MHz probes overcome limits gonioscopy. The use technique study eye has previously been reported in literature, but illustrates its importance for performing correct diagnosis specific hyphema. We report sixty-year-old caucasian male recurrent hyphema left eye. episodes were four two years patient came hospital first time last occasion. past managed topical corticosteroids mydriatic drops. He referred surgical trabeculectomy both eyes 5 before symptoms no trauma episode. revealed 2 mm due leakage through superior iridectomy. Gonioscopy could not identify B-scan ultrasound ultrabiomiscroscopy, probes, performed. Ultrabiomiscroscopy, mainly probe 80 MHz, provided images high resolution structures allowed visualization an abnormal vessel at inner margin opening, probably responsible Ultrabiomicroscopy proved be diagnostic identifying cause other techniques are applicable.
