Improved hydrogen storage properties of combined Ca(BH4)2 and LiBH4 system motivated by addition of LaMg3 assisted with ball milling in H2

摘要: Abstract A combined Ca(BH 4 ) 2 +LiBH system with improved hydrogen storage properties is obtained by the addition of a particulate LaMg 3 alloy assisted ball milling in H atmosphere. It found that mostly hydrogenated to symbiotic low crystalline MgH and amorphous La-containing hydride fine particles after milling, which are homogenously embedded matrix. The multi-hydride shows significant improvements both thermodynamics kinetics. Particularly, molar ratio 0.3 an overall superior property. main dehydrogenation starts from ca. 200 °C, 100 °C lower than temperature pristine system. Re-hydrogenation initiates at 150 °C, maintains 70% its first desorption capacity 5 cycles. mechanism discussed.
