摘要: This chapter describes leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) and phenotypic specialization. LIF is a cytokine which inhibits the growth of mouse cells (Ml cells) induces their differentiation into macrophages. has appeared to be identical with hepatocyte-stimulating III (HSP-III), known stimulate synthesis acute phase plasma proteins. Another form LIP associated extra cellular matrix (M-LIP) arises from alternative splicing within exon 1. In 5′-flanking region murine gene three sequence elements are found control constitutive action promoter. While human (h) competes (m) for binding hLIF receptors, mLIF does not efficiently compete receptors. reported formation osteoclast-like multinucleated when cocultured bone marrow cells. The cholinergic factor/LIF development experimentally induced atherosclerosis, hence may play role in pathogenesis disease.
