摘要: AbstractA method for three-axis machining of sculptured surfaces with optimal workpiece orientations (set-ups) is presented. The procedure consists two steps: accessibility analysis and clustering points to be machined. Feasible tool along which the can reach cutting locations (CLs) without colliding are first determined using point analysis. then classified into separate groups according their domains in order define set-ups. Finally, CL sorted out each group generate paths. part surface is, therefore, virtually divided a set subareas, subarea separately machined defined set-up. main objective minimize number set-ups, increase feasible set-up decrease path discontinuity.
