摘要: An insertion sequence (IS901), found in pathogenic strains of Mycobacterium avium, but absent M. avium complex isolates from patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), has been isolated and sequenced. This element a nucleotide 1472 bp, one open reading frame (ORF1), which codes for protein 401 amino acids. The acid sequence, terminal ends target site IS901 are similar to those IS900, present paratuberculosis. However, the DNA sequences these two IS elements exhibit only 60% homology, compared homology 98% between their respective hosts. IS901, like appears belong family related actinomycetes other bacteria. containing were be more virulent mice than closely lacking IS901. may useful tool study genetics virulence obtaining stable integration foreign genes into mycobacteria.
