摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter is designed to review the current knowledge about how observers are able perceive an object's 3D structure from image motion. One of most perplexing phenomena in study human vision ability three-dimensional (3D) layout environment patterns light that project onto retina. Indeed, were it not for facts our day-to-day experiences, would be tempting conclude perception form a mathematical impossibility because properties optical stimulation appear have so little common with real objects encountered nature. The provides formal analysis specific transformations produced by different types rigid body motions, historical overview various factors can influence observer's perceptions motion, summary existing computational models motion could theoretically analyzed, psychophysical evidence psychological validity these models, and discussion several issues remain future research.
