摘要: Fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) are produced by transesterification. The problem in the product of transesterification is presence impurities such as mono-, di-, triglycerides, and free fatty acids. So that, purification using solvent fractionation needed to separate them from FAME. objective this research were determine effects crude esters-to-acetone (CFAME/acetone) ratio on yield, purity, factor, recovery FAME after evaluate which separated each step fractionation. Jatropha curcas oil Berchmans’s Tiwari’s methods. acetone. CFAME/acetone ratios 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Fractionation was done stepwise namely 21 ° C, 16 12 5 C. results showed that conversion method 1.7-fold higher than method. Purification resulted best 1. Yield decreased 1.6-fold at 4. Purity 8.74% with an increase 1 factor 2-fold 3. Recovery 1.3-fold acids major component triglycerides (>59%). indicated could be used alternative for purifying further study optimize needed.
