摘要: OBJECTIVE: To provide recommendations for reviewing and reporting clinical in-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) events in dogs cats to establish nonambiguous operational definitions CPR terminology. DESIGN: Consensus guidelines. SETTING: International, academia, referral practice, general human medicine. METHODS: An international veterinary Utstein task force was convened April 2013 San Francisco determine the scope of project, variables be reported, their definitions, a template. Factors that were essential meaningful data amenable accurate collection (ie, core variables) additional useful research projects hypothesis generation supplemental defined. on each item either achieved during meeting or subsequent online modified Delphi process dialogue between members. RESULTS: Variables defined categorized as hospital, animal, event (arrest), outcome variables. This report recommends template standardized studies involving cats. Core elements include suspected cause(s) location arrest, first rhythm identified, occurrence return spontaneous circulation (ROSC) more than 30 seconds (any ROSC) 20 minutes (sustained ROSC), survival discharge, functional capacity at discharge. If is discontinued patient euthanized by owner request, reason reported. The suggests case form used individual events. CONCLUSIONS: availability these small animal guidelines will encourage facilitate high-quality research, improve comparison across study sites, serve foundation registries.
