摘要: In the present work optical properties of In2O3 nanowires, grown by vapour transport process, have been investigated means photo- (PL) and cathodo-luminescence (CL), applied in ultraviolet (UV)–visible range. Although is expected not to emit light at room temperature, a complex photo-luminescence emission spectrum has revealed its temperature dependence carefully analysed varying from 20 300 K. The influence substrate on spectra studied performing low-temperature measurements nanowires deposited both alumina silicon substrates. Some samples submitted suitable thermal treatments (in oxygen-rich atmosphere 1000 °C), whose effects nanowires' put evidence. When performed with low magnification, same features as spectroscopy. high can provide single nanostructure. CL measured for first time nanowire, before after situ electron-beam irradiation. Thanks this comparative analysis, effectiveness growth procedure obtaining good-quality materials demonstrated unexpected bands exhibited tentatively attributed specific defects. particular, an orange emission, amplitude be increased submitting sample appropriate treatments, (both PL spectroscopy) might exploited visible laser applications.
