摘要: We present an algorithm for real-time level of detail reduction and display high-complexity polygonal surface data. The uses a compact efficient regular grid representation, employs variable screen-space threshold to bound the maximum error projected image. A coarse simplification is performed select discrete levels blocks mesh, followed by further through repolygonalization in which individual mesh vertices are considered removal. These steps compute generate appropriate dynamically real-time, minimizing number rendered polygons allowing smooth changes resolution across areas surface. has been implemented approximating rendering digital terrain models other height fields, consistently performs at interactive frame rates with high image quality.
