摘要: Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) has been a mainstay of nuclear medicine practice for several decades. More recently, combining the functional imaging available with SPECT and anatomic (CT) gained more acceptance proved useful in many clinical situations. Most vendors now offer integrated SPECT/CT systems that can perform both functions on one gantry provide fused data single session. In addition to allowing localization findings, also enables accurate rapid attenuation correction studies. These attributes have cardiac, general medicine, oncologic, neurologic applications which results alone were inconclusive. Optimal use this rapidly emerging modality requires an understanding fundamental principles SPECT/CT, including quality control issues as well potential pitfalls limitations. The long-term economic effects technology yet be established.
