摘要: PURPOSE: To compare the contact lens-induced corneal edema recovery dynamics of human subjects with type 1 diabetes those age- and sex-matched normal subjects; to data previously reported from alloxan-induced diabetic rabbit. METHODS: Corneal was induced by 2 hours closed eye wear a thick, soft lens. After removal lens, central thickness measurements were made at 30-minute intervals for 3 using optical pachometry. RESULTS: Human demonstrated significantly slower rate than controls. The found in this study is similar that rabbits. CONCLUSIONS: decreased ability patient suggests care should be taken when prescribing lens use these people. similarity between rates subject rabbit supports as an animal model studies diabetes.
