Dietary amino acid-induced systemic lupus erythematosus.

摘要: The effects of dietary manipulations on autoimmune disease are understood poorly. In this article, we detail our experience with a human subject who developed hemolytic anemia while participating in research study that required the ingestion alfalfa seeds. Subsequent experimental studies primates ingesting sprout seeds and L-canavanine (a prominent amino acid constituent alfalfa) is presented. results these indicate potential toxic immunoregulatory role induction systemic lupus-like primates.
