摘要: Abstract The results of a series pilot-scale runs with P. mazatlanica larvae from 2004 through 2006 are reported. Preliminary in and 2005 used broodstock collected summer, when massive spawning wild populations naturally occurs. However, larval development were very poor failed to produce spat both years. In 2006, ripe still but also the spring time, based on hypothesis that gonads this season better reproductive condition summer. Three conducted 2006: two one Larvae growth survival greatly increased runs, ending successful productions (∼ 20 × 10 3 ∼ 100 × 10 juveniles). summer run again spat. Additionally, first April refers an experiment evaluated different culture conditions: constant temperature (27 °C) low stocking density (3–4 ml − 1 ) versus variable (24–28 °C) high (8–9 ). trial significantly growth, which turn resulted greater numbers settled spat, comparison second trial, where survival, settlement lower. Also quality seawater at hatchery was microbiological chemical tests. implication these tests, together all experiments analyzed discussed terms potential large-scale cultivation Mexico.
