New results on vibrational population decay in simple liquids

摘要: The population lifetimes of the symmetric CH2-stretching mode several methylene halides were measured after infrared excitation by spontaneous anti-Stokes Raman scattering delayed picosecond probe pulses. Data ranging from 6.5 to 45 ps are reported. results give evidence for vibrational energy transfer via anharmonic coupling neighbouring combination bands and overtones.
