摘要: Abstract The newly formed extensive flooded land associated with the Three Gorges Reservoir hold great potentials to provide ecosystem services (ESs) for surrounding cities and communities. Conflicting values conventional management strategies may complicate inhibit broad-scale decision-making this novel ecosystem. Public attitudes are a crucial influence in way process plays out. This study was conducted assess how reservoir bank is perceived by general public of Chongqing Municipality terms importance riparian ESs, preference corresponding landscape design styles through photo-questionnaire interviewing. Although citizens know little “ecosystem services” concept, they do recognise environmental ecological benefits especially protection pollution interception functions, while habitats wildlife flood attenuation were less concern.
