摘要: Formation of lateral organ primordia from the shoot apical meristem creates boundaries that separate primordium surrounding tissue. Morphological and gene expression studies indicate presence a distinct set cells define in plant apex. Cells at boundary usually display reduced growth activity results separation adjacent organs or tissues this morphological coincides with border different cell identities. Such morphogenetic patterning events their spatial coordination are controlled by number boundary-specific regulatory genes. The may also act as reference point for generation new meristems such axillary meristems. Many genes involved initiation expressed boundary.
