摘要: Abstract High titers of lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV) are obtained after infection 1-day primary peritoneal mouse macrophage cultures. The capacity these cells to support LDV replication, however, progressively decreases as the age. Almost no replication occurs in 7-day cultures, spite fact that viable and metabolically active, though nondividing. Mitotically active cultures simian 40 (SV40)-transformed macrophages also fail replication. synthesis LDV-specific RNA was studied by labeling infected with [5- 3 H]uridine presence actinomycin D. single-stranded 48 S viral RNase-resistant 27 commence between 4 5 hr infection, first mature virions released 6 hr. time period its appearance extracellular is about 1.5 induction completely inhibited treatment cycloheximide 0.5 infection. Electron microscopic examination thin sections shows matures budding from cytoplasm into intracytoplasmic vesicles. Mature seem be rapidly culture fluid an yet unknown mechanism.
