摘要: An investigation into the preparation of monolithic separation media utilising a cyanine dye sensitiser/triphenylbutylborate/N-methoxy-4-phenylpyridinium tetrafluoroborate initiating system activated by 660 nm light emitting diodes is reported. The work demonstrates multiple uses redlight initiated polymerisation in stationary phases within polyimide and coated channels modification materials with molecules which absorb strongly UV region. This initiator complex was used to synthesise poly(butyl methacrylateco-ethylene dimethacrylate) poly(methyl methacrylate-co-ethylene fused silica capillaries varying internal diameters, as well micro-fluidic chips. repeatability procedure resultant structure demonstrated batch monoliths 100m i.d. capillary, were applied model protein mixture (ribonuclease A, cytochrome C, myoglobin ovalbumin). Taking an average from 12 chromatograms originating each batch, maximum relative standard deviation retention factor (k) for separations recorded 0.53%, variance selectivity (˛) 0.40% while peak resolution 8.72%. All maxima Ribonuclease A/Cytochrome C peaks. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed success experiments prepared using same initiation approach capillary chips, respectively. also photo-initiated grafting chromophoric monomer onto poly(tetrafluoroethylene) capillaries.
