摘要: Nauru is a small phosphate-rich independent island country situated in the Central Pacific. The population Micronesian and was estimated to be 4,680 mid-1981. An analysis of mortality data for years 1976-81 indicates high adult male due accidents, injuries, cardiovascular disease, diabetes. life expectancy estimate at birth men 49 years, women 62 years. among lowest region. considerable appears related rapidly acquired affluence ready availability motorcycles, cars, imported foods, tobacco, alcohol. suggest that modernization economy Pacific Island nations can lead new serious public health problems.
