摘要: J-R curve trends of irradiated A533-B submerged arc weld metal containing a high copper impurity level have been characterized with the single specimen compliance technique. The R for these steels exhibits power law behavior. This non-linearity precludes both an exact determination JIc by proposed ASTM multispecimen standard as well calculation value tearing modulus T in region J-controlled growth. A new experimental definition is which accounts curvature curve. use side grooves promotes straight crack-front extension results values are less than those produced smooth specimens. With side-grooved specimens irradiation has reduced factor 2.5 while smaller reduction was observed under same conditions. phenomenon interrupted cleavage upper shelf also discussed.
