摘要: The E5 proteins are short transmembrane encoded by many animal and human papillomaviruses. These display transforming activity in cultured cells animals, they presumably also play a role the productive virus life cycle. thought to act modulating of cellular proteins. Here, we describe biological activities best-studied discuss evidence implicating specific protein targets pathways mediating these activities. primary target 44-amino acid BPV1 is PDGF β receptor, whereas EGF receptor appears be an important 83-amino HPV16 protein. Both bind vacuolar ATPase affect MHC class I expression cell-cell communication. Continued studies will elucidate aspects protein-protein interactions, signal transduction, cell biology, replication, tumorigenesis.
