摘要: Semi and full interpenetrating network (IPN) hydrogels were synthesized by allowing free radical copolymerization of acrylic acid (AA) hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) in the matrix polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). Accordingly, four different semi IPN prepared with PVOH: copolymer mass ratio 1 : 1, 0.75, 0.5, 0.25. These designated as SEMIIPN1, SEMIIPN2, SEMIIPN3, SEMIIPN4, respectively. In all these SEMIIPN, after polymerization PVOH was crosslinked 2 % glutaraldehyde to form structure. a similar way, sequential from AA HEMA (designated PAAHEMA) same composition except this case apart crosslinking PAAHEMA further N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide (NMBA) produce FULLIPN1, FULLIPN2, FULLIPN3, FULLIPN4. All type characterized carboxylic %, FTIR, UV, DTA-TGA, XRD, SEM, mechanical properties. The parameters, swelling diffusion characteristics also studied. performance IPNs compared terms their relative abilities for removing varied concentration rhodamine B (RB) methyl Violet (MV) dyes water. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
