摘要: Reversibility is crucial to any regulatory process. That is, it must be possible return an activated system the ground state so that can reactivated. This particularly true of smooth and striated muscles which may undergo thousands contraction/relaxation cycles in one day. Many preceding chapters have addressed importance phosphorylation 20 kDa myosin light chain (LC20) initiating muscle contraction. In this chapter we will focus on LC20 dephosphorylation relaxation by reiterating a few essential points regarding force maintenance describing experiments correlating with relaxation. Finally, conclude extended discussion phosphoprotein phosphatases, enzymes dephosphorylate other proteins.
