摘要: Nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) are two substances that take part in the regulation of vascular smooth muscle tone. ET-1 is a vasoconstrictor peptide NO vasodilating molecule. There have been contradictory reports plasma levels these patients with chronic renal failure (CRF). We studied hypertensive normotensive CRF either on dialysis or non-dialysis treatment. A total 41 were studied, 23 males 18 females mean age 50.39±14.46 years. The control group consisted healthy subjects (22 8 females) 46.50±8.21 significantly higher lower than controls (p<0.05). Plasma levels, however, did not show any difference However, haemodialysis conservative treatment (p<0.01). Except for negative correlation between creatinine (p<0.01), there relationship function tests (BUN, creatinine), duration disease haemodialysis. concluded hypertension has multifactorial aetiology decrease disturbance balance might be more important above factors alone.
