摘要: The ability to predict the biological effect of complex waste mixtures from chemical characterization data was examined by comparing observed mortality that predicted a mathematical additivity model with literature LD50 values for chemicals identified in mixtures. Male F344 rats were exposed gavage 1 10 samples industrial waste. Seven caused death within 24 h administration at dosages ranging 5 ml/kg body weight. Two 7 lethal produced 100% dosage 2.5 ml/kg; another 2 ml/kg. partial analysis, although providing more extensive information on composition than might normally be available most mixtures, not sufficient distinguish nonlethal or indicate potency. Possible explanations apparent inability readily lethality include possible inappropriateness an due presence interactions, such as synergism antagonism; kinetics absorption, distribution, and elimination, which may affected matrix; unidentified mixture have contributed toxicity.
