摘要: BACKGROUND: Rice is one of the most commonly used cereal grains in pet foods. However, other cereals such as pearl millet, sorghum and maize have good amino acid profiles could be alternatives to rice diet dogs, thus sparing for human consumption. The aim this study was evaluate nutritional worth these dogs. RESULTS: Eight adult Spitz dogs (age ∼10 months, average body weight 6.14 ± 0.58 kg) were a 4 × replicated Latin square design compare effects dietary inclusion four cereals, namely rice, maize, millet sorghum, on digestibility hindgut fermentation characteristics. dry matter (DM) significantly (P < 0.01) reduced when replaced by alternative cereals.
