摘要: Abstract Energy is indispensible in modern society and one of the most important components socio-economic development. Nepal least developed countries with more than 80% its population residing rural communities. Per capita energy usage – often viewed as a key index development country far less global average per usage. The sector dominated by traditional sources such fuel woods, crop residues animal dung mainly for domestic contributing to about 86% national consumption. Currently 40% has access electricity, electrification accounts only 29%. majority populations are meeting their needs burning biomass stoves which several environmental public health issues. Nearly all fossil-derived fuels consumed imported refined form, perpetual increase petroleum imports adversely impacted existing fragile economy country. Despite huge potential harnessing various renewable resources hydropower, solar power, wind biofuels/bioenergy, these have not been sustainably captured due geographical, technical, political economical reasons. This paper presents brief account Nepal's current status technologies (RETs) micro-hydro, energy, biofuel/bioenergy, improved cook stoves, water mill. It also highlights opportunities barriers RETs.
