摘要: This paper discusses phylogenetic reticulation using linguistic data from the Automated Similarity Judgment Program or ASJP (Holman et al., 2008; Wichmann 2010a). It contributes methodologically to examination of two measures in distance-based data, specifically δ score Holland al. (2002) and more recent Q-residuals Gray (2010). is shown that a adequate measure reticulation. Our empirical analyses examine possible correlations between (a) size (number languages), (b) age, (c) heterogeneity language groups, (d) isolation individual languages within their respective phylogenies, (e) status speech forms as dialects recently emerged languages. Among these, only significantly correlated with δ. interpretation realistic sensitive effects socio-historical events such extinction. Finally, we correlate average scores for different families goodness fit expert classifications, showing explain much variance.
