摘要: BACKGROUND Platycodin D (PD), a triterpenoid saponin isolated from the Chinese medicinal herb Platycodonis radix, possesses anti-cancer effects in several cancer cell lines. The aim of this study was to evaluate its anti- activities hepatocellular carcinoma cells. MATERIALS AND METHODS MTT and colony formation assays were performed proliferation, along with flow cytometry Western blotting for apoptosis. Cell adhesion tested by observing cellular morphology under microscope, while transwell assay employed investigate migration invasion. RESULTS PD concentration-dependently inhibited proliferation both HepG2 Hep3B cells, significantly suppressed induced apoptosis protein levels cleaved poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) Bax up-regulated that survivin down-regulated after treatment PD. Moreover, not only obviously cells Matrigel, but also remarkably depressed their invasion 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol 13-acetate (TPA). CONCLUSIONS presents potential via inducing apoptosis, inhibiting adhesion, invasion, indicating promising features as lead compound agent development.
