摘要: (1) Analysis of the durations open and shut intervals measured from single channels currents provides a means to investigate mechanisms channel gating. Durations are conveniently data by using threshold level indicate transitions between states. This paper presents detailed characterization sampling, binning, noise errors associated with 50% analysis, criteria reduce these errors, methods correct for them, an efficient handling binning plotting interval durations. (2) Measuring sampling at fixed rate introduces two types (a) number given duration increased (promoted) over that expected in absence producing promotion error, (b) decreases total fraction true detected, detection error. Sampling can be reduced negligible levels if actual or effective (after interpolation) period is less than 10-20% both dead time fastest constant distribution intervals. Dead has filtered amplitude equal amplitude. (3) Methods presented error during least squares maximum likelihood fitting. more difficult correct, but empirical description used calculate detected events sampling. (4) Noise current record produce If peaks activity exceed detection, then false brief produced. Sufficient filtering will prevent this type also increase Increased required not necessarily best method reducing as faster exponential components. (5) ways: presence noise. The selected so cancels error.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 400 WORDS)
