摘要: Publisher Summary Single-channel recording is an extremely valuable technique that permits direct measurement of transition rates between open and closed states a channel. Several commercially available analysis programs are able to scan single-channel current recordings determine when channel opens it closes, then calculate the mean amplitude associated with each state. This information usually incorporated into idealized record file lists amplitudes durations or dwell times all detected transitions chapter describes fitting time distributions. times— times—are frequently distributed according sum exponential components. Analysis must, therefore, include determination number components required describe distribution estimation constants areas correspond component. Results may be compared predictions kinetic models used explain gating behavior. One approach toward estimating form based on grouping individual observations class intervals bins histogram. A smooth curve such as exponentials fit through points determined by counts in bin.
