摘要: Research has identified multiple predictors of coparenting quality, but few studies have investigated how intimate partner violence (IPV) affects divorcing couples' relationships. We addressed this question in a sample 154 mothers with different marital IPV experiences. Mothers were recruited within 4 months divorce filing and completed two interviews 3 apart. At Time 1, reported on coercive control during marriage, postseparation behavioral (e.g., parental communication), emotional anger), intrusion harassment) dynamics; at 2, they quality (i.e., levels support conflict). In the overall sample, variables independently predicted quality. then classified into three groups: no (NV; n = 74), situational couple (SCV; 46), or controlling (CCV; 34). Of 3, was lowest CCV group. While SCV group similar to NV most divorce-related variables, more hostility separation placed less importance father-child Finally, patterns association between study showed some parallels groups. For CCV, harassment fear negatively associated Findings contribute understanding need for individualized assessments cases attention dynamics.
