Suppressing Friction-Induced Vibration Due To Negative Damping and Mode Coupling Effects Using Active Force Control

摘要: This paper serves to highlight a potential and effective active force control (AFC) based scheme suppress friction induced vibration that is caused by the mechanisms of negative damping mode-coupling. Two mathematical models are on Shin Hoffmann schemes first simulated analyzed using conventional closed loop proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. Later, were seamlessly integrated with AFC elements develop into two degree-of-freedom (DOF) controller designed effectively reject disturbances consequently reduce vibrations in both models. It found PID-AFC very suppressing compared pure PID alone as clearly demonstrated through results presented time frequency domains.
