摘要: Forty-eight barrows were used in a 2 x 6 factorial arrangement to test hypothesis that feeding protein-deficient diet affects subsequent growth response by altering the efficiency of protein utilization. Barrows individually fed either 9% crude (CP) or an 18% CP from 20 30 kg body weight (BW) (depletion phase). From 45 BW (realimentation phase), pigs one six experimental diets with levels 11.8, 13.1, 14.3, 15.6, 18.8, and 21.8%. Four slaughtered at determine initial composition. each treatment depletion phase (a total eight) BW, all realimentation 36) for compositional analysis. Pigs bled 20, 30, 40 blood urea nitrogen (BUN), insulin-like factor (IGF)-I, IGF-binding (IGFBP) assays. given three times maintenance digestible energy requirement (3 120 kcal BW(-0.75) d(-1)) equal meals daily. The feed allowance was adjusted every 3 d. During phase, grew faster more efficiently (P < 0.01) gained water than did diet. showed higher BUN values, IGF-I concentrations, IGFBP ratios during 0.05), tended grow = 0.066), 0.01), gain 0.068) phase. 0.069) have When measured had lower 0.05) However, plasma concentration ratio not affected dietary level This study indicates exhibit compensatory growth. period growth, those is previously adequate also suggests can be as indicator utilization
