摘要: Summary Aim The aim of this paper is to report on the process and experiences neonatal nurses parents who worked collaboratively in an appreciative inquiry (AI) project enhance family centred care (FCC) unit with a focus destiny phase. Background concept FCC internationally recognised as ideal way caring for hospitalised children however, research suggests health professionals experience difficulties integrating principles into daily practice. A fundamental principle need develop respectful partnerships between infants requiring care. AI offers positive, strength based, participatory approach that promotes organisational learning positive change. facilitates change from ground up lends itself building effective sustainable collaborations. Design Qualitative interpretive approach. Methods Two groups (4 first group 2 nurses, 1 physiotherapist occupational therapist second) four individual face-to-face interviews were conducted (2 previously discharged unit) (total n =12). Data analysed using thematic analysis. Results analysis revealed key themes: ‘creating physical mental space', ‘building maintaining momentum', ‘ongoing support' ‘continuing collaborations'. Conclusion Parents facilitate FCC. Implications future practice/research provides framework enables parent–nurse collaboration needed action plans can form catalyst
