摘要: Numerical computations of tsunamis are made for the 1992 Nicaragua earthquake using different governing equations, bottom frictional values and bathymetry data. The results compared with each other as well observations, both tide gauge records runup heights. Comparison observed computed tsunami waveforms indicates that use detailed data a smalI grid size is more effective than to include nonlinear terms in computation. Linear computation overestimates amplitude later phase first arrival, particularly when becomes large. amplitudes along coast from much smaller heights; average ratio, or amplification factor, estimated be 3 present case 1 minute used. factor however may depend on
