摘要: Aim of this paper is to briefly summarize available evidence about potential usefulness heart rate variability (HRV) analysis for the clinical evaluation autonomic diabetic neuropathy. HRV contains hidden information that can be extracted from tachogram sections several hundred beats with spectral analysis. Subsequent normalization and use a paradigm including standardized stimuli (such as tilt) are commonly employed assess cardiac regulation. In resulting spectra, two major components similar amplitude usually observed (at low--LF--and high frequency--HF), their relative power best appreciated using normalized units provide an estimate balance between sympathetic vagal modulatory activity. states predominance, such during orthostatic positions, LF increases HF decreases. diabetics, consistent alterations in properties frequent early finding: initially reduction (ie power) followed by progressive functional denervation, which associated severe dysfunction. The methodology provides some useful advantages respect more traditional approach employing simple bedside tests. conclusion, appears convenient method various degrees dysfunction: it easy perform, while giving results methods, greater sensibility.
