摘要: Abstract 1. Morphological and histochemical observations were done on the chicken anterior posterior lingual glands. Histology, ultrastructure glycoconjugate histochemistry investigated by means of light electron microscopy using staining specific for complex carbohydrates. 2. In glands there are lateral medial zones showing different morphological tinctorial features. The secretory cells typical mucous cells. 3. Histochemical reactions revealed presence acidic glycoconjugates with terminal sialic acid residues, vicinal diol sulphate groupings in granules. 4. It is suggested that main functions lubrication boli protection from micro‐organisms.
